A cold planer (also known as a pavement planer, pavement recycler, milling machine or rotomill) is anengineering vehicle used to remove bituminous orasphalt concretefrom roadways, resulting in a smooth, even surface. This is accomplished by bringing a spinningmandrel or "head" into contact with the pavement at an exact depth or slope.
